Govt. Shut Down, Kamala Harris Uplifts
"My concern is that we cannot conduct our foreign policy through tweets," Harris said during her first press conference as a presidential candidate.
The day that we rejoice and celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., Sen. Kamala Harris announces 2020 bid for president. The outpour of joy displayed on my timeline this morning alarmed me. I immediately thought to myself, "FINALLY, professionalism and COLOR will live in Washington, again". In my honest opinion, I believe it is time and long overdue for a woman to take the throne of the United States of America. I believe it's time for this country to be under the leadership of someone with a different perspective of the "average" politician.
Many people don't believe that the president sets the tone of the country. At the end of the day, he represents us all. I mention this for the people in the back that proclaims, "He aint my president". Unfortunately, HE IS!
Not only did Kamala announced her presidential campaign on "MLK" Day but also paid tribute to late great Shirley Chisholm. Shirley Chisholm, the first black woman ever to run for president, launched her campaign 47 years ago. Kamala Harris chose yellow and red for her campaign colors in a nod to Chisholm's bid for president with its red and yellow campaign buttons.
Martin had a dream that... "my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character".
It is definitely time for a change. It is time for this country to display the content of it's character! Let's fix the issues and get better! Let's focus on things that REALLY matter. Let's create opportunities for every living American. Every American deserves health care, equality, stability and affordable education.
I am excited for her journey! May the DREAMS of AMERICANS that want better for this country become our reality!
